Layout Guide Tal-y-Bont is a quiet hamlet on the west bank of the river Conwy in North Wales. Conwy Bay being to the north and Betws-y-Coed to the south. The narrow gauge railway was built in 1896 to connect the gold mine at Tal-y-Bont, and the woollen mill at Trefriw to the market town of Llanrwst.
