Layout Guide |
This layout was designed as a module of a larger '00' layout that will be built (eventually!) in my garage and it will be linked to a narrow-gauge feeder line. (The period is set around 1948-1950, so there will be examples of GWR, LMS & British Railways stock in evidence on the main line.)
The viewing area has two levels. A single-platformed station blessed with a passing loop and small siding capacity on the lower level and a street scene (namely George Street) on the upper level. The station is on the outskirts of a small town (Bickering) while the reason for the narrow-gauge line being there in the first place is still being debated! As with most narrow-gauge lines, a severe lack of funds has started to take its toll and although there are still passenger and freight workings, the lack of care is becoming more prevalent.
The rolling stock is a mixture of r-t-r and kit built items that I cannot take credit for! It is assumed that stock has been purchased cheaply over the years, from other lines that have gone into liquidation....well, that’s how I acquired it!
